Redlands High School is located in the city of Redlands, San Bernardino County, California. RHS is one of three comprehensive 4-year high schools in the Redlands Unified School District. Founded in 1891, it is the oldest public high school in the State of California still functioning on its original site. The ethnic/racial makeup of the student population is 43.38% Hispanic, 24% White, 14.36% Asian, .18% American Indian, .49% Pacific Islander, 4.18% Filipino, 6.76% Black and 6.67% Multi-Ethnic. The school is enrolled in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) which means that all enrolled students in the school, regardless of income level, are eligible to receive a healthy school breakfast and school lunch at no cost. Total student enrollment is 2245 and 47% are first generation college students.

Redlands Community Information

Redlands is a residential community located sixty-five miles directly east of Los Angeles, California. The school district encompasses the city and a considerable area of unincorporated county territory around the city. The population of the city of Redlands is about 64,000 with the outlying areas increasing the school district population to 90,000-95,000 inhabitants. Small businesses, professional, managerial, supervisory and sales positions are the main areas of business. New housing areas have been developing rapidly the last ten years but slowed during the recession of the early nineteen-nineties. Located in Redlands is the University of Redlands, a private institution of higher learning, with a number of community, state and private four-year colleges located within a radius of twenty miles from the city.

Directions to the RHS campus

From the west:

Follow Interstate 10 East (from the greater Los Angeles Area) to the University Avenue exit in Redlands. Turn right on University. Make an immediate right at the first traffic light at Citrus Avenue. Follow Citrus Ave. 1 1/4 blocks west just past Central Ave. The entrance to the main parking lot is on the left.

From the east:

Follow Interstate 10 West (from the greater Palm Springs area) to the Cypress Ave. exit in Redlands. Turn left on Cypress. Travel two blocks to University Ave. and turn right. Follow University north to Citrus Ave. Turn left on Citrus and travel 1 1/4 blocks west just past Central Ave. The entrance to the main parking lot is on the left.
