Requirements For RHS Graduation
  1. Satisfactory completion of 225 semester units of credit from grades 9-12 with 70 semester credits maximum credited for ninth grade.
  2. All 9th grade students will be enrolled in a year of English, math, science, and physical education, and a semester of physical geography.
  3. All 10th and 11th grade students must be enrolled in English and are strongly encouraged to be enrolled in math and science. Physical education is strongly recommended in 10th grade. Remaining semester credits must be earned in grades 9-12 including:
    • English.................................................. 40 Semester Credits in Grades 9 – 12
    • Social Science...................................... 30 Semester Credits in Grades 10–12
      (Including World History & Geography, United States History, American Government, Economics)
    • Science................................................. 20 Semester Total Credits in Grades 9 –12
      (10 credits must be in the life sciences, 10 credits must be in the physical sciences)
    • Math..................................................... 20 Semester Credits in Grades 9 –12
    • Foreign Language or Fine Arts........ 10 Semester Credits in Grades 9 –12
    • Physical Education............................. 20 Semester Credits in Grades 9–12
      (Maximum of 10 Credits from 9th grade)
    • Health................................................... 5 Semester Credits in Grades 9 – 12
    • Electives.................................................80 Credits in Grades 9 – 12
Special Considerations
  1. Physical Education

No more than 40 credits of Physical Education may be applied toward graduation requirements in grades 9-12.

  1. California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)

Beginning with the Class of 2006, all students will be required to pass the California High School Exit Exam in Language Arts and Mathematics by the end of their senior year in order to receive a high school diploma.

  1. R.O.P.

No more than 40 credits of R.O.P. may be applied toward graduationrequirements in grades 9-12. You must be age 16 to take most R.O.P. classes. Refer to your counselor for the exceptions to this rule.

  1. Teacher Assistant

No more than 10 credits may be applied toward graduation.
